All sorts of signs make up the background to life in Singapore, as
anywhere else, though we seldom
take notice of them.
Most of them are replicated in other
cities. "Adidas", "Sale", "One-way
street" or "New Zealand holidays" can be found almost
anywhere, but there are some that are quite unique to Singapore (and maybe
one or two other cities) and
this photo essay seeks to capture them.
They tell us something about Singapore
and Singaporeans, not always flattering. But they are also the things that
you'll instantly recognise if you've lived some years in Singapore, and
that will connect you back to this particular place.
