About 85% of Singaporeans live in flats built by the government, most of
which are located in what is termed the "new towns" -- suburbs
that ring the city centre, each with its own town centre.
The typical Singaporean spends quite a
lot of his time there, but how often do we capture life in the heartlands
photographically?
Lots of pictures are taken of the sleek
city centre for various tourist or commercial brochures. Lots of pictures
are taken by ourselves when we're on holiday -- outside Singapore.
Here are some scenes of real life where
we actually live.
